Heinz “Hene” Loosli was born and raised in Thun, Switzerland. After studying mechanical engineering, Hene went on to compete at world-class level in both Alpine and Nordic Combination skiing, as well as Ski Jumping. His extensive athletic career also includes a second place finish in the 2004 Fulda Challenge: a 7-day race across the Yukon and parts of Alaska with events ranging from ice climbing to snow shoeing to hovercraft driving. Since the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Hene has been coach and handler for the Swiss National Paralympic Alpine Ski Team.

Hene brings over 20 years experience in the adventure sports and activities industry. He trained as a rafting guide in New Zealand and achieved his expert canyoning qualifications in Switzerland.
